There was plenty of sunshine and sparkle around our St Mark’s Quilters workshop last Saturday.
From Helen’s new bracelet…
…to the stellar line-up of quilts made by our ladies for the people of Tasmania who lost their homes in this summer’s devastating bushfires.
Sydney in April is simply beautiful, mild and sunny with just a touch of crispness to the early mornings, but for those who lost homes in Tasmania and are still living in temporary accommodation with an uncertain future the approach of winter is a far from happy time.
We hope these quilts will warm them (and warm their hearts) and let them know that others care.
Amanda Jean Nyberg’s pattern from Sunday Morning Quilts has proved a fabulous way to create cheery, bright quilts from some of our treasured scraps that we couldn’t bear to toss out. Even tiny pieces found a place in these blocks.
I think we’ve finally used up all our yellow penguin fabric .
Those who couldn’t make an entire quilt made blocks, so everyone was able to contribute in some way to this great effort.
Cath made this smart and cosy quilt for a man.
Thank you, my friends. You’re all stars
