Look at our St Mark’s Quilters last Saturday, heads down in concentration. What you can’t hear is all the conversation and laughter! We’re experts at multi-tasking!
There was -
CUTTING and PIECING
Di B – the pattern of little feet
Gillian’s pinwheels
Di C loves her penguins.
Gail played with some half-square triangles.
Snowball blocks by Michaela (our very own chocolatier – every group should have one!)
Judy’s Jemima Puddleduck squares
Michelle’s pieced rows
QUILTING
Margaret was quilting-as-she-went adding delicately coloured scrappy strips directly onto her batting and backing.
Cath finished off this quilt using a large stipple pattern on her machine.
I used my machine’s walking foot to echo the square shapes of my baby quilt.
FLAUNTING
Gillian’s quilt top was almost finished by home time.
as was Michelle’s (that’s Di C flaunting camera-shy Michelle’s little quilt )
Speaking of flaunting, here’s Matilda having a “look at me” moment.
So many beautiful little Blankets of Love for RPA Newborn Intensive Care.
And two more for the Marcia Burgess Autism Specific Early Learning and Care Centre at Liverpool (usually shortened to “The Marcia”, for obvious reasons!)
Jungle Animals by Di C.
and Alphabet Soup by Michaela
See more detailed photos of all our Blankets of Love and quilts for The Marcia on the tabbed pages below my blog header.
Phew! At the end of the day we were dog-tired
Di
What a diverse range of techniques and lovely fabrics.
ReplyDeleteI smiled all the way through this post. The fabric choices are so perfect for "The Marcia." My smile turned to a huge grin at the end of the post. That Matilda is adorable. I can tell she worked very hard with St. Mark's Quilters.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous quilts.
